Violence and cruelty can never solve a problem, non-violence and peace always win, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said today on his Mann ki Baat radio programme.
Modi was referring to the Jallianwalla Bagh massacre 2019 will mark a 100 years of the incident.
Modi also spoke about the goods and services tax, saying GST is a "celebration of honesty".
The GST, Modi said, has speeded up the movement of goods by removing inter-state checkposts.
Modi added that "one nation, one tax" was a dream — of the nation — that has now become a reality.
He also spoke about the recent India vs Afghanistan test match.
Modi said the winning Indian team "showed sportsmanship in asking the Afghanistan team to pose together for photographs", and added that "sports is an excellent route to unite society".
