Our resolve is strong, India braving pandemic with corona warriors, says PM Modi while addressing commerce chamber

Prime Minister Modi while addressing the annual day of the Indian Chamber of Commerce(ICC) said on Thursday that the country is fighting on multiple on fronts.

India's prime minister speaking via video conferencing lauded the role of the commerce chamber and said it has contributed to the country's growth.

"Our resolve to fight COVID-19 is strong," the Indian prime minister told the business community. "Our will power will decide India's path," PM Modi said while stressing on the importance of a self-reliant country.

"India is braving the pandemic with corona warriors," the prime minister asserted.

"Every citizen in the country has resolved to turn this crisis into an opportunity," PM Modi said, while adding, "We have to make this a major turning point for this nation. What is that turning point? A self-reliant India."

PM Modi advised the business community to work on reducing imports stating that the "dependency" on imports should be reduced.

"Have to take steps to ensure that products which we are forced to import from elsewhere are manufactured in India," PM Modi told the business community while adding, " the recent decisions taken by the Centre for farmers hasfreed the agriculture economy from years of slavery."

"We have to revive the manufacturing sector in West Bengal, this is time with bold investments, not conservative decisions," the PM added.
