
The Election Commission has recognisedJanta Dal United's faction led by Nitish Kumar.
The commission has also approved them to use the arrow symbol.
EC 's decision has come after it rejected the plea filed byGujarat party leader Chhotubhai Amarsang Vasava to recognise his group as real JD(U). He is the working president of the JD(U) faction led by Sharad Yadav.
The plea was filed to seek claim over the party and its election symbol.
The EC has released an order stating thatthe group led by Kumar "has demonstrated overwhelming majority support" in the legislature wing as well as the majority in the national council of the party.
