Prime Minister Narendra Modi targetted the Congress earlier today in Lok Sabha
Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah took a jibe at Prime Minister Narendra Modi today saying that he would be thankful if the PM followed 12th-century social reformer Basavanna's teachings rather than just remembering him.
"PM Narendra Modi, it was good of you to have remembered me in the Parliament today. I am glad you also remembered Basavanna," Siddaramaiah tweeted.
"Basava said "those with wealth will build temples; what do I do, a poor man? Kannadigas will thank yousir, if you could follow Basavanna's teachings," read Siddaramaiah's tweet.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi targetted the Congress earlier today in Lok Sabha. He lashed out at the Congress for claiming credit to Jawaharlal Nehru for establishing democracy in the country.
PM Modi delivered his motion of thanks to President today. He noted that in the 12th century, during Jagadguru Basaveshwara's time, work had begun in the country to establish democracy.

"Kharge Ji, you come from Karnataka, at the most, you may get a place to sit here by showing devotion towards one's family after Karnataka elections, but don't insult Jagadguru? Basaveshwara," he addressed Leader of Congress in Lok Sabha, Mallikarjuna Kharge in the parliament today.
While speaking at a conference in the poll-bound state, Karnataka, the state chief minister Siddaramaiah recently noted that Prime minister Narendra Modi has hurt the pride of Kannadigas.
He said, " PM has hurt pride of Kannadigas by uttering lies about the state".
Siddaramaiah has often taken to Twitter and engaged in awar of words with PM Modi and leaders like Uttar Pradesh's Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.
