Taylor Swift endorses Harris-Walz

Swift recently endorsed Harris-Walz for the White House after Vice President Kamala Harris debated with Trump on September 10.

It also follows Trump posting AI-generated images on his Truth Social, falsely suggesting Swift supported him, prompting the singer to clarify her political stance.

Taking to Instagram, the award-winning singer said that the AI-generated endorsement "really conjured up my fears around AI and the dangers of spreading misinformation."

"It brought me to the conclusion that I need to be very transparent about my actual plans for this election as a voter. The simplest way to combat misinformation is with the truth."

"I will be casting my vote for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz in the 2024 Presidential Election," she declared.

She then praised Harris, calling her "a steady-handed, gifted leader".

"I believe we can accomplish so much more in this country if we are led by calm and not chaos," Swift wrote.

"I was so heartened and impressed by her selection of running mate @timwalz, who has been standing up for LGBTQ+ rights, IVF, and a woman's right to her own body for decades," she added, signing the post "Childless Cat Lady," a dig at Trump's running mate JD Vance.

Swift's backing, which she shared with her 238 million Instagram followers, sparked a surge of 400,000 new voter registrations.

As a nod to Swift's endorsement, the Harris-Walz campaign has embraced everything Taylor Swift, even offering friendship bracelets on their campaign's online store and launching billboards with slogans like "We're In Our Kamala Era!" and "A New Way Forward… Ready For It?".
