Israeli defence minister Yoav Gallant on Wednesday (Oct 9) warned that a retaliatory attack on Iran would be "lethal, precise and...surprising". During a speech to the country's troops, Galant vowed that Tehran will "pay a price".
Addressing his troops, Galant said that Israel's "strike will be lethal, precise and above all, surprising. They won't understand what happened and how. They will see the results."
"Whoever strikes us will be harmed and pay a price," vowed the Israeli defence minister, while describing the Oct 1 missile attack as a failure.

This strong statement comes as things continue to heat up between Israel and Iran. Recently, on Oct 1, Iran fired a barrage of missiles at Israel, which fended off the attack with the United States' help.
Even as Israel vows "lethal" retaliation, US President Joe Biden has said that he would not support a retaliatory strike on sites related to Iran's nuclear programme.
Also on Wednesday, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and US President Joe Biden connected over a call — their first since August.
