Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje visited the Tripurasundari temple in Banswara district to pray as counting of votes for 199 Assembly seats began on Tuesday.

She will be praying till the announcement of results, an official said.

More than an hour into counting, the BJP is leading in 73 seats and the Congress in 91 in Rajasthan as trends for 172 of 200 seats trickled in.

BJP candidates have taken an early lead in Anupgarh, Masuda, Pali, Bali, Pindwara-Abu and Reodar seats, while the Congress is surging ahead in Pokaran and Jayal.

Rajasthan has 200 assembly seats. The voting was held on December 7, the last day of polling in a round of state elections billed as a semi-final before next year's Lok Sabha polls.

Exit polls have predicted a win for the Congress in the state.
