Rajasthan: Ashok Gehlot and Sachin Pilot to take oath as Chief Minister, Dy CM on December 17

The oath ceremony of Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister of Rajasthan will take place on December 17 after which the cabinet will be inducted, news agency ANI reported. 

Congress party on Friday named veteran leader Ashok Gehlot as the state's new chief minister. Sachin Pilot will be the deputy chief minister of Rajasthan. 

The announcement was made by state party observer KC Venugopal.

Venugopal said the decision was taken by party President Rahul Gandhi who will be present during the oath-taking ceremony. 

''Congress President Rahul Gandhi has decided to appoint Ashok Gehlot Ji as the Chief Minister of Rajasthan. Sachin Pilot will be the Deputy Chief Minister of Rajasthan,'' said Venugopal.  

According to reports, Congress President Rahul Gandhi will attend the swearing-in ceremony of Ashok Gehlot and Sachin Pilot as Rajasthan CM and Deputy CM respectively in Jaipur at 10 am on December 17 after which he will head to attend the oath ceremony of Kamal Nath as Madhya Pradesh CM at 1:30 pm.
