PM Modi to celebrate Diwali along LoC with Indian troops

PM Narendra Modi will celebrate Diwali at Gurez valley along the Line of Control(LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir.

PM Modi will be joined by Army chief General Bipin Rawat, Northern Command chief Lt General Devraj Anbu and Chinar Corps Commander Lt Gen J S Sandhu in India's forward post along the Line of Control.

The Indian prime minister landed at Srinagar airport on Thursday morning and went straight to the Gurez sector.

Earlier in the day, Modi greeted the nation on Twitter as he left for the border to celebrate the occasion with the Indian troops.

Just after taking office in 2014, PM Modi had spent Diwali in Kashmir after floods had devastated the Valley.
