Hitting out at the newly appointed chief minister of Karnataka on Monday the BJP called him as "chief manager (CM)" of the Congress.
Party spokesperson Sambit Patra said that for the Congress, Karnataka was its ATM and it had found a chief manager in Kumaraswamy.
He also added that the CM was "lying prostrate at the feet of the Gandhi family".
Referring to the residential address of the former Congress chief Sonia Gandhi, he added that the government in the southern state would be run from Janpath.
The commentsfrom the BJP came in response to Kumaraswamy's statement where he said that "he was at the mercy of Congress and not the 1.6 crore people of Karnataka".
The former chief minister of the state responded to Kumaraswamy's statement by saying that, "Kumaraswamy must apologise for his statement. I want to remind him that he took oath as the Chief Minister to serve the people of Karnataka not Congress party. He cannot work as the CM of Congress party. It is clear that Kumaraswamy is at the mercy of Congress"
Kumaraswamy had said on Sunday that he was at the mercy of the Congress as he did not get the required mandate. He added that he was not under the pressure of the 6.5 crore people of the state.
He said, "Mine is not an independent government. I had requested the people to give me a mandate that prevents me from succumbing to any pressure other than you. But today I am at the mercy of the Congress. I am not under the pressure of the 6.5 crore people of the state".
