New Delhi, Delhi, India
A brewing crisis in the recently formed Gujarat government seems to have ended as Deputy Chief Minister Nitin Patel has been handed over the finance ministry on Sunday.
The decision came hours after Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) chief Amit Shah reached out to Patel, who expressed his displeasure over not being given key portfolios.

Shah had assured him of giving suitable departments.
Patel was upset after finance and urban development portfolios, he handled in the previous government, were taken away from him.
However, the deputy CM had claimed that his fight is for prestige and not post.
The finance portfolio was instead alloted to Saurabh Patel, while chief minister Vijay Rupani kept the urban development department.
Earlier in the day, Patel joined Chief Minister Vijay Rupani's cabinet and took charge of office.
