Ahead of 26/11 anniversary, Mumbai police issues terror advisory on 'lone wolf attacks'

The Mumbai police today issued an advisory asking for help to track youths exhibiting radical thoughts which could lead to "lone wolf attacks" in the city.
The advisory said message needs to go from security agencies tolook out for any suspected perpetrator. It ordered security personnel to be "more alert, observant and prepared".
The advisory asked for "de-radicalisation efforts with the cooperation of civil society", adding it would deal with "conventional terrorism as well as tendencies to incite violence and glorify terrorist acts."
"Robust access to control measures, including anti-ramming measures such as installation of bollards, barriers, tyre killers at VIP locations/venues would be necessary," it said.
The advisory requested for appropriate precautions to be undertaken during road journeys.
Drivers of the VIP vehicles should be trained in defensive skills, the advisory warned.

The advisory comes ahead of the ninth anniversary of the horrific 26/11 attacks on India's financial capital Mumbai when 10 terrorists attacked Mumbai'sChhatrapati Shivaji Terminus, the Oberoi Trident, the Taj Mahal Palace & Tower, Leopold Cafe, Cama Hospital, the Nariman House Jewish community centre leading to the deaths of at least 164 people.
Pak-born Ajmal Kasab was the only terrorist captured alive by Indian police and was hanged four years later on November 21st, 2012 during the UPA-led government.
