Indian television actor Hina Khan is currently battling breast cancer. She has been continuously sharing health updates with her millions of fans and recently revealed that she has been diagnosed with mucositis.
On Thursday evening, the actress shared that she had been diagnosed with mucositis, a common and painful side effect of chemotherapy.
Taking to her Instagram, Hina shared a post revealing her diagnosis as she went on to ask her followers to share some remedies.

In her post, she wrote, "Another side effect of chemotherapy is mucositis. Although I am following the doctors advice to treat it. If any of you have been through it or have known any useful remedies. Please suggest . It's really hard when you can't eat. It will greatly help me."
Soon after Khan shared the post, her fans and followers shared some homeremedies.
One user commented, ''My mom have gone through this we used to use mouth paint and made her drink coconut water twice a day.wish you the speedy recovery.''
Another wrote, ''I have been grade 2 mucositis it was very painful , try to drink very light Luke warm drinks like milk, porridge, blend food , even dal water was unbearable for me ...but don't worry this too shall pass, my phase passed I am twice cancer free you will be sure...all the prayers with you.''
What is Mucositis?
Mucositis is a side effect of cancer treatments such as chemotherapy or radiation. As per Medical News Today, mucositis is an inflammation and ulceration of the mucous membrane that lines the digestive and entire gastrointestinal tract.
Most of the people who undergo cancer treatments suffer from thesepainful issues.
The symptoms of mucositis are:
1. Swollen mouth and gums.
2. Bleeding
3. Thick saliva
4. Difficulty in swallowing
