Months after taking the oath as CM of Tamil Nadu, Vijay hoisted the flag at the Independence Day event. On this special occasion, actress Trisha was present with her mother. Videos have gone viral across the social media.
On the occasion of Independence Day 2026, Tamil Nadu CM Vijay hoisted the National Flag at Fort St. George in Chennai on Saturday morning. This was his first Independence Day address as CM after his party TVK won at Assembly elections with historic mandate. But above all, what garnered all the attention was the presence of Trisha.
This is actress' first public appearance after the controversy sparked over Udhayanidhi Stalin's 'double meaning' remark on actress over her close bonds with Vijay.

Vijay and Trisha have been rumoured to be romantically linked. Their relationship status is not known to the world. But they do share a close bond. At the Independence Day event, Vijay hoisted the flag for the first time as CM, and to witness this occasion, his family and friends were present. The event was attended by many dignitaries, including his parents. But the face that caught everyone's attention was Trisha Krishnan. Her mother, Uma Krishnan, was also present.

Trisha was seen in the front row among other invitees, including veteran director and Vijay's father, SA Chandrasekhar. The actress looked visibly happy, talking with people around her.
In another clip from the ceremony, Vijay was seen saluting the audience during the Independence Day event. In return, Trisha was seen doing the same gesture as she saluted him back. For the I-Day event, Trisha looked elegant in a mustard saree with an embroidered green blouse. She styled her hair in a bun decorated with a gajra, and kept her accessories minimal with bracelets and earrings.
