It was rather emotional! moment for all. On Friday (July 26), icon Celine Dion made her shining stage comeback at the Paris Olympics 2024.

The conclusion of the opening Summer Olympics was marked by Dion's performance at the Eiffel Tower. This was Dion's first performance in two years after her stiff person syndrome diagnosis.

Celine took to the stage performing the rendition of Édith Piaf’s “Hymne à l’amour'' in a dazzling beaded gown adorned with rhinestones and tassels.

After the Olympic cauldron was lit, Celine started off her mesmerising performance and her strong vocals were quick to give goosebumps to everyone watching. Under the rainy sky, Celine performed with all her energy and enthusiasm.

Celine's performance moved everyone in the crowd, including singer Kelly Clarkson, who couldn't control her emotions.

As part of the broadcasting team of NBC, Clarkson said that she would not be able to talk during her chat with Mike Tirico.

"That was really beautiful," Clarkson said. "People don't know her story. What she's been going through physically... it's just incredible what she's overcome and have that moment."

The American Idol went on to call the legendary singer, ''a vocal athlete.''

After her breathtaking performance, the Canadian singer penned a gratitude note on her Instagram handle. 

"I’m honored to have performed tonight, for the Paris 2024 Opening Ceremony, and so full of joy to be back in one of my very favorite cities," the 56-year-old singer wrote.

She added, "Most of all, I’m so happy to be celebrating these amazing athletes, with all their stories of sacrifice and determination, pain and perseverance."

She concluded the post by saying, "All of you have been so focused on your dream, and whether or not you take home a medal, I hope that being here means that it has come true for you! You should all be so proud, we know how hard you have worked to be the best of the best. Stay focused, keep going, my heart is with you! - Celine xx."
