The Kannada film industry woke up to shocking news with reports of actor Dileep Raj’s death following a heart attack. He was 48. In the early hours of Wednesday (May 13), the actor suffered a cardiac arrest and was taken to Apollo Hospital, Bengaluru, where doctors tried to revive him. Unfortunately, he did not survive.
News of Dileep’s sudden death has sent shockwaves across the industry, among his friends, and throughout the entire Kannada entertainment community. The actor is survived by his wife, Srividya, and two daughters, Dhruti and Aditi.

Raj was one of the popular actors in the Kannada entertainment industry and had worked with major celebrities, including Puneeth Rajkumar, in the 2007 film Milana. His family has not released any statement as of now.
He was also known for his roles in U-Turn and Boyfriend. The actor was best known for his role in Hitler Kalyana.

Soon after the news of his death broke, his friends and actors, who had worked with him, expressed grief over the loss.
Actor Chetan Kumar mourned Dileep Raj’s passing and wrote, “Deeply saddened by passing of gifted artist Dileep Raj at age of 47. I worked directly with Mr Raj in 2009 during our song shooting in Goa; he was creative, kind and cool. I’m especially thankful to him for giving life to my characters as a dubbing artist. He will be fondly remembered.”

Who was Dileep Raj?
Born on September 2, 1978, Raj worked in the Kannada entertainment industry across television, film, and production. Before transitioning to TV and film and gaining stardom, he was known for his performances as a theatre artist.
In his career, he has been part of serials such as Kambada Mane and Janani, Ardha Satya, Rangoli, Kumkum Bhagya. He also ventured into the world of production through his banner DR Creations, and has backed shows such as Paaru, Krishna Rukku and others
