While we already know that the season finale is due earlier next year, there’s something else too. The series makers have filmed a special reunion episode of ‘Game of Thrones’. However, it will not be broadcasted but will be made exclusively available on the upcoming GoT complete series box set, packaged alongside seasons one to eight.

It was earlier announced that a special episode, featuring past and present cast members, was filmed in Belfast this year. It was revealed by Sean Bean with Conan O’Brien hosting the one-off episode. He has said, “It was the last episode, so we all got together. They decided to get all the characters together for a bit for this big show in Belfast and he kind-of hosted the evening.”

“It’s funny with work, you don’t really keep in touch,” he continued. ”You do so many types of jobs in that part of the world. It’s just like whenever I see old friends or even old drama school friends, it’s just the same, we pick up where we left off last time.”

Sean Bean played Ned Stark on the show and was killed off in the first season itself.

A release date has not been announced, although the box-set will come out after the eighth and final season concludes. The series will start streaming in April 2019 and will have just six episodes.
