A year after it hit theatres, Kapil Sharma and Shahana Goswami starrer Zwigato is getting a digital release. The film is helmed by actress-filmmaker Nandita Das and features popular TV comedian Kapil Sharma in a completely different avatar. The film had a theatrical release in March 2023, and while it got mostly good reviews from critics, Zwigato did not fare well at the box office.

On Thursday, Nandita Das took to X (formerly known as Twitter) to share that the film will be released on Amazon Prime Video on October 25.

"The wait is over! Excited to share #Zwigato will be out tomorrow only on @PrimeVideoIn," Das wrote.

Zwigato clashed with Rani Mukerji's emotional drama, Mrs Chatterjee Vs Norway, and resultantly, the screens were divided, which impacted the business of both movies.

Owing to its limited stay in the big cinemas, many of Sharma's fans had been urging for Zwigato's digital release but Das had in a previous interview stated that she was not finding takers for the film.

Earlier this year, Goswami had stated in an interview, "It’s very unfortunate that Zwigato is still not on any OTT platform for viewing. In fact, I keep checking with the makers about when and how and why, but they also don’t have the answers.”
