Mumtaz was not allowed to meet Dharmendra in the hospital
Three days after Dharmendra passed away, and his family performed his last rites in a private and low-key manner, veteran actress Mumtaz spoke about her co-star, revealing that she was not allowed to meet Dharmendra in the hospital when he was on the ventilator.

Mumtaz, who has worked with Dharmendra in Jheel Ke Us Paar (1973) and Loafer (1973), opened up the actor's kind nature and their bond. Unfortunately, she was not allowed to meet him at the hospital when the actor was on the ventilator.

Speaking to ETimes, he said,“I went to see him at the hospital, but the staff told me he was on the ventilator and no one was allowed to meet him. I sat there for 30 minutes, hoping I might still get to see him, but I couldn’t. I left without meeting him."
The last time she met Dharmendra was in 2021 when she visited his home. “I met him last in 2021, when I went to his place," she said. “It was such a pleasant meeting. That was the last time we met."
Dharmendra's prayer meet
After a low-key funeral, the Deol family hosted a prayer meet on Thursday (Nov 27), three days after the actor passed away. In the announcement post, the family stated that the prayer meeting was a Celebration of Life.
The prayer meet, held on the lawns of Taj Lands End in Bandra, saw several celebrities taking part, including Salman Khan, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan, Rekha, Aryan Khan, Malaika Arora, and several other A-listers who were spotted arriving at the venue
