Blake Lively message to It Ends With Us book fans: 'We did our best to honour the book'

Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni's upcoming romantic drama It Ends With Us is one of the most anticipated movies. However, there is a sense of fear among the fans, who are curious whether the makers have done justice with Collen Hoover's beloved book and emotionallove story.
Amidst fan's constant worry, Blake, who plays the lead role of Lily Bloom, has reassured fansthat they will end up loving the film adaptation of the best-selling novel.
Speaking to Entertainment Tonight about the movie, Lively said, "Some people will always like a book better than a movie and some people like a movie better than the book, but I think that we just did our best to honor the book and honor the fans, and, I think, really make something that works even by itself."
Elaborating further, the Gossip Girl star added, "If you don't know the book, the movie works. I don't think there's any way that if you read the book and you saw the movie that you wouldn't be thrilled. We really worked hard on that. I also believe if you saw the movie and then read the book, you wouldn't go, 'Hold on, this isn't like [the other].' You can do either. I think they're both really beautiful."
Agreeing with Blake's point, the author added that adaptation has stayed true to the book, "Readers tend to always want to read the book first. I completely understand that, but I feel like this adaptation has stayed so true to the book that it's actually either or, whatever you prefer. I think that you'll be happy if you watch the movie and then go into the book or vice versa," he added.

Based on author Hoover's parent's relationship, It Ends With Usrevolves around the life of Lily (Lively), who had a traumatic childhood. However, leaving everything behind, she has started a new life in Boston, where she falls in love with neurosurgeon Ryle (Baldoni). As her relationship with Ryle get more deep, a few things of her new bond starts reminding her of herparents’ relationship, which makes things even more confusing. At the same time, Lily's ex Atlas Corrigan (Brandon Sklenar), reenters her life.
The movie will hit the theatres on August 9.
