Donald Trump has blamed his political rivals US President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris for the "senseless deaths" of six hostages whose bodies were found in a Hamas tunnel in Rafah on Sunday (Sep 1).
The Republican presidential candidate in a post on his social media channel Truth Social said he grieved the death of the hostages, which "horrifically" included "a wonderful American Citizen, Hersh Goldberg-Polin," who was "murdered by Hamas."

The former US president attributed the deaths of the hostages to a "complete lack of American Strength and Leadership." He also said that the failings of "Comrade Kamala Harris and Crooked Joe Biden," was the reason the hostages were killed.
"They have blood on their hands!"

"Sadly, this is the total lack of 'Leadership' that Kamala and Biden represent - One that allows terrorists to take American lives."
He claimed that this was "because they only care about Weaponising the Department of Justice against their Political Opponent," an apparent reference to his own legal battles.
"Just like the Debacle of the Afghanistan Withdrawal that claimed 13 American lives, Kamala and Biden’s judgment has not only put lives at risk but is directly responsible for unnecessary deaths that should have never happened," he said, slamming the Democrat leaders.
Trump further claimed that if he was president "this terror would have never happened," and promised that it would stop "the day I am back in the Oval Office."

Gaza hostage remains
The Israel Defence Forces on Saturday (Aug 31) night announced that its troops had located six bodies in the Gaza Strip. These bodies, as per AFP, are of hostages taken by the militant group Hamas on Oct 7.
Theremains were recovered on Saturday "from an underground tunnel in the Rafah area" and formally identified in Israel,said the military. The dead were identified as Hersh Goldberg-Polin, Carmel Gat, Eden Yerushalmi, Alexander Lobanov, Almog Sarusi and Master Sergeant Ori Danino.
