Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) snapped their losingstreak in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024on Thursday (April 25) after they beat hosts Sunrisers Hyderabad by 35runs. The contest played at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad saw Rajat Patidar score third fastest fifty in RCB’s historylayingthe foundation for the win. With this victory RCBkeep their remote hopes of Playoff qualification alive as they next face Gujarat Titans on Sunday.

RCB snap losing streak

Having lost six consecutive matches, RCB were the second favourites to win thematchagainst the batting powerhouse of SRH.However, having set a target of 207 runs, the impressive batting line-up of SRH had an off dayas they lostwickets at consistent intervals.Travis Head (1), Aiden Markram (7), Heinrich Klaasen (7) and others failed to make an impression on an off day for the side. Ultimatelylittleresistance from skipper Pat Cummins with the bat went valiant as RCB won the match by 35runs.

Batting first, RCB had a task in hand to impress with both bat and ball as openers Virat Kohli (51) and captain Faf du Plessis (25) stitched a partnership of 48 runs for the opening wicket. Will Jacks failed to convince with the bat and was dismissed for6before Rajat Patidar ran the show with the bat.He took the initiative in his own hands and scored 50 off 20whichincluded5sixes.His innings set the tone for the win as RCB won their first away match of the season. So far in IPL 2024, theyhad lost all theirfourmatchesaway from home while losing six overall.

RCB are next in action on Sunday and will search for back-to-back wins in the IPL 2024 for the first time as they face GTat the Narendra Modi Stadium.A defeat for RCB could see them all but out of the race for the Playoff . While SRHfacedefending champions Chennai Super Kings on the same day at Chepauk.
