The National Investigation Agency (NIA) today conducted searches at three locations in Anantnag district in connection with a terror-related case, officials said.
The searches were carried out at Kreeri Shahabad Dooru, SICOP Bijbehara and Sadoora as part of an ongoing investigation into case FIR No. RC/2026/02 registered under Sections 23 of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA), 7/25 of the Arms Act and Section 4 of the Explosives Act.
Official sources said an NIA team, accompanied by local police personnel, searched the residence of Suhail Gani Bhat, son of Abdul Gani Bhat, at Kreeri Shahabad Dooru. During the search, a Redmi 9A mobile phone was seized for investigation.
Another search was conducted at SICOP Bijbehara at the residence of Ghulam Nabi Hajam, son of Ghulam Rasool Hajam, who is alleged to be involved in drug peddling, according to officials.
Later, in continuation of the searches, the NIA team also reached Sadoora village, where it conducted a search at the residence of a person who is presently under detention under the Public Safety Act (PSA), sources said.
The searches are part of the agency's ongoing investigation into the case. Further details regarding the recoveries, if any, and the nature of the alleged links are awaited.
