Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday attacked Pakistan and said ''a nation on verge of bankruptcy has now become second name for terror''.

Modi was addressing a public rally in Yavatmal, Maharashtra.

Prime minister's attack comes amid growing anger across the country over the terrorist attack on the CRPF convoy by a Jaish-e-Mohammed suicide bomber, Adil Ahmad Dar.

More than 40 CRPF soldiers were killed in the attack.

''The sacrifice of Pulwama martyrs will not go in vain and the security forces have been given a free hand to punish perpetrators of the attack,'' he said.

''I know that we are all in immense pain after what happened in Pulwama, I understand your anger. Two sons from Maharashtra lost their lives in the attack and their sacrifice won’t go in vain,'' he added.

PM also said that security forces have been given full freedom to punish the perpetrators.

''Terror organisations who have committed this crime, no matter how much they try to hide, they will be punished,'' he added.
