The Indian Army has killed at lat 20 Pakistan Rangers and left around 7 wounded in cross-border firing along the Line of Control (LoC) this year.
The information was brought to light on Thursday and added that Indian Army has been doing pro-active operations along LoC due to ongoing ceasefire violations and due to reports of 180 to 200 terrorists waiting to cross South of Pir Panjal ranges which includes areas of Poonch, Rajouri, Mendhar.
“Similar number of terrorists (180-200) are ready to cross LoC in North of Pir Panjal Ranges. In the action by Indian Army Pakistan has suffered 20 casualties & 7 more were injured in 2018. This number was 138 casualties in 2017 with 156 people getting injured,” ANI quoted.
The area south of Pir Panjal ranges includes Poonch, Rajouri, and Mendhar.
The insiders further revealed that the army is very much active in the Valley and is involved in pro-active operations due to the ongoing ceasefire violations.
Also, the Indian Army had suffered 10 casualties during ceasefire violations along the LoC this year.
They have been ordered to go ahead with cross firing in case of any act of violence by Pakistani troops along the LoC.
In 2017, the number of causalities on Pakistan side was 138.
