India rains: Pilot rides luggage cart through flooded Jaipur airport | Watch

Many parts of India have been facing water-logging, flooding and landslides triggered by heavy rains. Jaipur, the capital of India's western state, Rajasthan,witnessed torrential rainfall on Thursday (Aug1) which left many parts, including the Jaipur International Airport (JIA), waterlogged.

Many visuals of the waterlogged parts of Jaipur have been making the rounds on the internet. One particular video shows a pilot trying to enter Jaipur International Airport while standing on a luggage cart, and has gone viral.

"This is Jaipur Adani Airport. Here pilots fly even before boarding a flight... trolley itself is enough to fly," wrote an X user while sharing the video.

The clip shows a water-logged airport entrance. As the pilot tries to walk inside, he faces the risk of getting wet. Hence, the pilot climbs onto a trolley which an airport staff worker is pushing. As the video goes on, it highlights how the person manages to escape the situation and enter the airport without getting wet.

This video was shared on August 1. Since being posted, it has garnered multiple views and reactions. "Everywhere there is the problem of proper drainage resulting in water logging. It's really a shame," one user commented under the post.

"Wow, what an entrance! I’m curious how the average traveller will get into the airport—maybe they’ll need a boat, or is it an air+water port now?" wrote another.

The national capital Delhi also faced the water-logging problem.

In an unfortunate incident, three civil services aspirants died in Delhi's Old Rajendra Nagar area, which is popular for its cluster of IAS coaching centres, due to water-logging in the basement of Rau's Study Circle.

Since then, student protests are ongoing in Delhi over the lack of regulation of coaching centres. Students are demanding that the government take strict action against the culprits and compensate the victims' families.

In light of heavy rainfall on Wednesday, Minister of Education of Delhi Atishi Singh announced the closures of schools on Thursday.
