The irony came hunting amid Delhi's incessant rains and the prey was found in the Indian capital-based Institute of Town Planners of India (ITPI) building.A viral video showing water being pumped out of the ITPI building in central Delhi has taken social media by storm.

The ITPI, dedicated to the "economic, scientific, and artistic development of towns, cities, and rural areas in India," found itself struggling with waterlogging after a downpour on Wednesday (July 31).

The sight of ankle-deep water inside a building focused on town planning has sparked amusement and criticism online in equal proportions.

The news agency ANI shared the clip, showing a security guard using a hose to pump water out of the flooded premises. The video, which captures people wading through water inside the institute, quickly went viral, amassing nearly 2.4 million views on X within hours.

Another echoed the sentiment, saying, "Even the office of Town Planners is affected by flooding. Imagine what will happen to other offices?"

Adding to the chorus of amused reactions, one person wrote with a laughing face emoji, "Institute of town planners, pretty ironic ehh."

"The people of Delhi are equally responsible. Rampant littering is one of biggest reasons for clogged drains thereby flooding," another user commented on Instagram.

As Delhi continues to deal with the aftermath of the heavy rains, the incident at the ITPI serves as a humorous yet poignant reminder of the challenges faced by urban planners in managing theinfrastructure of the Indian capital.
