
In another shocking incident, a gang rape attempt was made on an on-duty nurse at a private hospital in India's Bihar, the police said on Thursday (Sep 12). The nurse, boldly, escaped thescene after cutting off the private parts of the alleged assaulter with a blade.
The incident took place at the RBS Health Care Centre in Bihar's Gangapur, while the doctor, who tried to assault the woman, and his two associates, were intoxicated.
The nurse was finishing off her work at the hospital when the accused came and tried to allegedly rape her. The nurse managed to flee from there after cutting the attacker and called the police from a nearby field.
The Bihar police said that one of the assaulters was a doctor and also served as the RBS Health Care Centre administrator in Gangapur. According to the police report, the accused have been identified as Dr Sanjay Kumar and his associates Sunil Kumar Gupta and Awadhesh Kumar.
The police said that the trio locked the hospital from inside and turned off CCTV cameras before attacking the nurse.
Moreover, the alleged attackerswere also drinking alcohol before trying to assault the nurse, which is also an offence in the dry state of Bihar.
Deputy Superintendent of Police Sanjay Kumar Pandey said that a team was rushed to the hospital and three people were arrested after taking safe custody of the nurse.

“The presence of mind and courage shown by the survivor is praiseworthy,” he said.
During the investigation, the police found the blade used by the nurse, blood-stained clothes, a liquor bottle, and three mobile phones.
