
PM Narendra Modi discussed the situation in the Maldives with Canadian PM Justin Trudeau today at meetingin HyderabadHouse in Delhi.
The two leaders also discussed ways to bring peace in Afghanistan. PM Modi and Trudeau spoke to each other on the need to restore freedom of democratic institutions in the Maldives.
'We discussed regional and global issues. The situation in Afghanistan was discussed," PM Modi said, adding that our views are similar on the need to ensure freedom of democratic institutions in the Maldives.
Modi and Trudeau also discussed freedom of navigation in the Indo-Pacific and the North Korean proliferation issue.
Meanwhile, India's National Security Advisor(NSA) Ajit Doval met his Canadian counterpart Daniel Jean and discussed terrorism.
Doval and Daniel also discussed threats from Jaish and Lashkar as well as Babbar Khalsa.
