All We Imagine As Light is ready for its premiere in India. Story of two nurses from southern India, Kerala, the film takes a look at the complexities of relationships. Written and directed by Payal Kapadia made a lot of name for itself as it ran in several film festivals, most importantly the Cannes Film Festival.
The film will begin its theatrical run in India.
All We Imagine As Light: Plot and Cast
The plot of All We Imagine As Light is as such: two nurses, Prabha, a troubled nurse who receives an unexpected gift from her estranged husband, and Anu, her young roommate who is seeking a place to be intimate with her boyfriend – take a trip to a beach town which allows them to find a space for their desires to manifest.

All We Imagine As Light sprung to fame as it won the Grand Prix at Cannes earlier this year.
The award-winning film stars Kani Kusruti, Divya Prabha and Hridhu Haroon. All stars hail from Kerala hence bringing in the authenticity that the script demands.
The film will be released in India on September 21 in limited cinemas. It will be released only in select Indian languages, Malayalam and Hindi. The film’s India distribution rights were acquired by Baahubali star Rana Daggubati’s Spirit Media. This theatrical run is vital if the film wants to qualify for the Oscars in the Best International Feature Film category representing the country.
The film was produced by Thomas Hakim and Julian Graff through their France-based company Petit Chaos, in co-production with the Indian companies, Zico Maitra’s Chalk & Cheese Films and Ranabir Das’ Another Birth, as well as by the Netherlands’s BALDR Film, Luxembourg’s Les Films Fauves, Italy’s Pulpa Films and France’s Arte France Cinéma.
The film was close to being selected as France’s Oscar entry but eventually, they chose Jacques Audiard’s film Emilia Perez.
As for its Indian release, All We Imagine as Light will release in Kerala under the Malayalam title Prabhayay Ninachathellam. Post the Kerala release, the film will be released across all major cities in India.
