A Chinese farmer had a close call when a Siberian tiger ran past his gate, hitting it just as the man closed it and ran for his life. Thankfully, the tiger only hits the gate once and goes away. The man then runs back in hurriedly.

The surveillance footage recorded the scary incident in the Heilongjiang province of China where authorities warned people to be wary of wild tigers after the incident was reported. 

News website China Daily reported that another villager also had an encounter with the tiger in which he fractured his wrist.

The video shows the tiger running on the road and past a large iron gate. The man, unaware of the animal, comes out of the door and into the courtyard which has an iron gate that leads onto the road. Someone seems to warning him about the tiger, but the man keeps walking forward.

He exits the large gate, looks around and soon spots the animal. He quickly returns and closes the gate behind him. But the tiger sees him and rams into the gate, which breaks off from one side. However, neither does the tiger try to jump over it, nor does it enter the premises, and instead goes away.

As per reports, the tiger is yet to be located and is still free.  

The incident has led authorities to tell people to stay alert to the danger posed by Siberian tigers in the region. 

Social media users were stunned to see the tiger running amok freely. Netizens said that the farmer was lucky since the tiger turned towards something else instead of jumping over the gate and attacking him.
