A TikTok video being made by an influencer took an unexpected turn when the diner broke out in tears after she was attacked by a vicious shrimp at a hotpot restaurant in China.
The video, in which the shrimp turned the tables for the influencer, received more than five million views.
The woman was seen sitting in an undisclosed establishment and trying to place the live crustacean in a pot which had other kinds of seafood.

Suddenly, the shrimp hopped out of the influencer's hand but the diner soon snapped the critters in her chopsticks.
Once she nabbed it in between the chopsticks, the shrimp somehow managed to latch to the TikToker's hand and speared into her its raptorial forearm because of which she cried out in pain.

Somehow, the offscreen employee managed to remove the shrimp from the woman.
How TikTok users reacted to the viral video
TikTok users found the shrimp attacking the woman amusing as one of them wrote, "Shrimp said you hurt me, I hurt you back.”
“Good for that shrimp !! He wasn’t going out without a fight,” wrote another user.
Some of the users said that the creature was a mantis shrimp,which is a predatory crustacean and is famous for capturingand dispatching prey with the help of its large raptorial claws.

There are two types of shrimps - one is the spearers which go for soft-bodied prey like fish and worms and the other is smashers which crack open crabs and snails with the help of their mallet-like appendages.
Smashers have a powerful punch which can shatter glass. Spearers are capable of amputatinga human finger and help earn them the moniker “thumb splitter”.
