Akshay Sharma pulls off career-best to win inaugural QA InfoTech Open

The Professional Golf Tour of India (PGTI) staged the inaugural QA InfoTech Open at the Noida Golf Course from September 11 to14, 2018. The tournament carried a prize purse of Rs 50 lakh and featured some of the top golfers of the South Asian region including Indian legend Jeev Milkha Singh.
The Title Sponsor for the event was QA InfoTech, one of the fastest-growing software companies of India.
Chandigarh’s Akshay Sharma pulled off a career-best seven-under-65 in the final round of the event to post his breakthrough PGTI win with a thumping six-shot margin.
The 28-year-old Akshay shot scores of 73, 70, 69 and 65, to emerge champion with a total score of 11-under-277. His error-free fourth round of 65 was also the best round of the tournament.
Sri Lankan Mithun Perera finished a distant second at five-under-283.
The Pro-Am event played on September 15 was won by Sri Lankan professional Anura Rohana and his team. The Pro-Am was played in the Scramble format.
