The Class 12 student from Rajasthan's Sikar district, who was raped by a teacher and owner of a private school, has suffered brain damage after being forced to undergo abortion and two operations, a media report said.
The teacher, Jagat Singh Gujjar, and the school's director, Jagdish Prasad Yadav, were arrested yesterday and are being interrogated, a top police official said.
The 18-year-old was forced to stay back under the pretext of extra classes and repeatedly raped by the two men for two months.
After she became pregnant, the two men took her to a hospital in Jaipur district's Shahpura town, where her abortion was carried out.
Her condition deteriorated after she began bleeding profusely. She was then taken to a hospital in Ajitgarh where her parents were informed about her condition. She was then shifted to Jaipur's SMS Medical College where she is unconscious and her condition critical, police say, adding that her statement will be taken after her health improves. She was admitted to the hospital's neurology
ward on Sunday night.
The Jaipur hospital's medical superintendent said the girl was operated upon twice, no proper care was taken and her brain is damaged because of the lack of oxygen. The doctor added that her brain seems to be permanently damaged.
