"Things are already changing. I am happy that the tradition of celebratory firing during weddings is already being abolished, right after I was crowned" she further added while talking about Khap in Haryana.

She further plans to work towards spreading awareness about menstrual hygiene with the help of Miss World organisation.

Chhillar noted, "After winning Miss India, I was able to collaborate with a local manufacturer of Sanitary Pads, Walmart India. So we touched 20 village communities across North India. But now that I have Miss World organisation supporting me, I can take this initiative to a whole new level. I can broaden my reach and provide women with a better system."

India rejoiced when the 20-year-old Medical student from Haryana, Manushi Chillar brought the prestigious Miss World crown back to India after 17 years.

After winning the crown, Manushi announced that once she is relieved of her duties as the reigning Miss World, she plans to resume her studies.

Although Chillar has not spoken about her plans for joining Bollywood, she recently expressed her desire to work with Aamir Khan.

"If I get an offer, I would like to work in an Aamir Khan movie. The kind of roles they do is very interesting and challenging as well. I think his movies connect with the people in a positive manner," Manushi noted at a press conference in New Delhi earlier today.

To this end, Manushi feels the recognition she has got would give a new ray of hope to the girls of her state.
