An encounter is underway between security forces and terrorists Handwara town of Kupwara district of Jammu and Kashmir.
According to the report, two to three terrorists are believed to be trapped.
The area has now been cordoned off by the security officials.
Internet services are also suspended in the area.
Further details regarding the encounter are awaited.
A number of militants have been killed by security forces in recent months, including the Lashkar's Abu Dujana and the Hizbul's Sabzar Ahmed Bhat, indicating a ramping up of anti-militant activity.
Meanwhile, Pakistan violated ceasefire in Krishna Ghati sector along the Line of Control (LoC) in Poonch on Wednesday. One soldier has been injured in the incident.

Last month, three simultaneous encounters were reported between terrorists and security personnel in several areas of Jammu and Kashmir.
The encounters were reported from Dooru Shahabad in Anantnag district, Noorbagh in Srinagar city, and Chadoora in Budgam district.
One terrorist was killed in Dooru and two were killed in the Budgam encounter.
