Posters appeared outside at least 20 houses in Kalamachal near Vamanapuram in Thiruvananthapuram district on Friday banning the entry of BJP workers. The form of protest has apparently spread to Chengannur in Alappuzha district also where the BJP is facing a crucial bypoll.

In Jammu and Kashmir, two Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) ministers have resigned after it was reported that they attended a rally in support of accused in Kathua rape and murder case. In Uttar Pradesh's Unnao, a BJP MLA has been arrested on charges of raping a 17-year-old girl.
Residents said this was done due to the alleged role of BJP workers in a number of rapes and crime against women.
