Randeep Hooda thinks Christopher Nolan's Oppenheimer is a ‘propaganda’ film

Randeep Hooda calls Oppenheimer America’s ‘propaganda’ film

Seems like Randeep Hooda didn't like Christopher Nolan's Oscar-winning movie, Oppenheimer. Hooda, who was recently seen in a biopic drama Swatantrya Veer Savarkar, called Cillian Murphy's movie a 'propoganda film' and went on to question why Hollywood movies only show America's greatness.

During his interview with YouTuber Ranveer Allahabadia, the actor talked about Oppenheimer, which was based on the life of J Robert Oppenheimer, the father of the atomic bomb. Hoodahighlighted the painthatthe atomic bomb caused to the people of Hiroshima and Nagasaki.

“America made Oppenheimer. That man built the atomic bomb. It was such a painful incident… in Japan, on civilians in Hiroshima and Nagasaki, they detonated the bomb at night, but they’re good guys,'' he said.

Further mentioning what Americans have done in Vietnam, Randeep added, ''America is the good guy. What did they do in Vietnam? Their movies are propaganda, their movies tell the entire world that ‘we are the best army, we are the good guys. Japanese, and Germans are bad’ and history also has the same thing, because they have written history. But this is not true.”

''They even say that aliens always come to America. Aliens can only spot America. They made pictures on their heroes like Oppenheimer, and Truman and the world watches them. We are always trying to demean our heroes because of political agenda.”

Released in July 2023, Nolan's Oppenheimer earned huge acclaim from critics and audiences alike. At the 96th Academy Awards, the movie went on to win 7 awards including Best Picture, Best Director, Best Supporting Actor and Best Actor Oscar.

Meanwhile, Randeep is currently busy promoting his recently released movie Swatantra Veer Savarkar. The movie which chronicles the life and times of freedom fighter Veer Savarkar has earned mixed reviews from the audience. If we talk about box office performance, the movie is earning decent numbers. In the second week of its release, the movie has collected Rs 13.98 crore (Rs 130 million) at the box office.
