Acclaimed Malayalam film composer Sushin Shyam has taken a significant step in his career as he submitted his works for Grammy Award consideration. Shyam, famous for his unique musical style in Malayalam cinema, has put forward compositions from two of his recent projects for consideration by the prestigious music awards.

On October 5, Shyam shared an update on Instagram, revealing that he has submitted his work from two films for different Grammy categories. One is the soundtrack from Aavesham, starring Fahadh Faasil, which has been submitted in the Best Compilation Soundtrack for Visual Media category; and another for Manjummel Boys, featuring Soubin Shahir, submitted for the Best Score Soundtrack for Visual Media category. 

This announcement was hugely appreciated among Shyam's fan base and within the film industry, as it is an opportunity for recognition on a global musical stage.  

In his note, Shyam said, “I am incredibly honoured to share that my work from Aavesham & Manjummel boys has been submitted for Grammy Consideration. A special thanks to Aditya Veera (@adix70) for thoughtfully considering and recommending the music for entry into the 67th Grammy Awards process. His thorough understanding of the process made the journey a smooth sail. This has been the most exhilarating yet fulfilling process for me to have worked on these projects & to see how far they’ve gotten me! To all the Recording Academy members, I’d appreciate your time in checking them out!”

Looking ahead, Shyam is currently involved in the musical composition for Bougainvillea, an upcoming film directed by Amal Neerad. This eagerly anticipated project features a star-studded cast including Kunchacko Boban, Jyothirmayi, and Fahadh Faasil.
