Siemens to spin off electric vehicle charging business for growth

On Monday, Siemens published its strategy to separate its electric vehicle (EV) charging division, named Siemens eMobility, to unlock further growth. The newly formed organization will bring together Siemens eMobility alongside Heliox, an experts in DC fast-charging solutions that was recently purchased.

According to Matthias Rebellius, a member of the managing board of Siemens AG, this structural modification will set the eMobility segment up for accelerated profitability. "The new eMobility setup will allow the company to prioritize high-potential segments and locations that are strategically significant," he pointed out.

The decision has been made as the demand for EV infrastructure continues to rise, prompted by growing electric vehicle adoption and intensified government initiatives to lessen carbon emissions.
