Neeraj was successful in clinching the silver medal at the Paris Games in the javelin throw, while Avinash was unsuccessful in the 3000m steeplechase. The winner in Diamond League season finale is awarded a Diamond Trophy and a cash prize of $30,000. In addition, they also get a wild card for the World Athletics Championships. Meanwhile, the runner-up gets $12,000 and so on till the eighth-place finisher, who will pocket $1000.
Neeraj Chopra qualified for the Diamond League after finishing fourth in the overall standings. The two-time Olympic medallist secured 14 points in total from his two second-place finishes in Doha and Lausanne.
