A CCTV footage has emerged that shows how the tragic fire that engulfed the TRP Gaming Zone in Rajkot, Gujarat started. The video revealed that the blaze originated from the welding work being conducted in the extension area, as per reports.

The distressing incident claimed the lives of 28 individuals, including nine children. The footage circulating on social media captured the moment when sparks from welding ignited a pile of wooden planks nearby, rapidly escalating into a massive blaze.

Even with frantic efforts by workers, the fire proved uncontrollable and led to the collapse of a temporary structure near the entrance. The collapse trapped numerous people inside.

Shockingly, the gaming zone lacked proper safety standards and operated without the necessary fire clearance.

Authorities disclosed that the facility had only one exit, exacerbating the chaos during the evacuation. The majority of the recovered bodies were charred beyond recognition. Due to this, DNA tests for the bodies had to be done for identification.

Legal action against six partners

Legal action has been initiated against six partners of the game zone for operating without a license. The owner and two others have been arrested under various sections of the Indian Penal Code.

The Gujarat High Court, taking suo motu cognisance of the incident, termed it a "man-made disaster," and pointed to the storage of highly flammable materials on the premises.

In response, the state police chief has ordered inspections of all game zones in the state, with instructions to shut down those lacking fire safety permissions.

Moreover, a Special Investigation Team has been constituted to delve into the matter and is expected to deliver its findings within 72 hours.
