GujaratLok Sabha election Results2024:Gujarat, the home state of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah massively favoured the BJP which secured 25 out of 26 seats. Notably, BJP won Surat uncontested, bringing the total to 24.

Gujarat voted for the Lok Sabha Elections on May 7 sealing thefate of 265 candidates, including three cabinet ministers Amit Shah, Mansukh Mandaviya and Parshottam Rupala and Minister of State Devusinh Chauhan.

The polls were held in 25 of the 26 constituencies in the state because the ruling BJP bagged the Surat seat unopposed after eight out of nine eligible candidates withdrew their nomination forms. BJP candidate Mukesh Dalal was declared the winner from Surat.

As per the Election Commission of India, the voter turnout in the state was around 55 per cent.

The BJP, which won all 26 seats in 2019, opened its account in 2024 in April with its Suratcandidate getting a walkover.Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah cast their votes at the Ranip and Naranpura booths, respectively.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah was re-elected from the Gandhinagar seat, which was represented by LKAdvani since the mid-90s. The Congress fought the election in alliance with the Aam Aadmi Party which contested from Bharuch and Bhavnagar.
