Reacting to a viral video, the filmmaker has finally broken his silence, putting his clarification on the matter forward.

Taking to his Instagram handle, Johar shared a quote and along with that, he penned a caption addressing the viral video.

Urging people not to believe in ‘clickbait assumptions’ he wrote, “Twitter became X and became my X a while ago… I broke up with the nauseous noise and muted the unwarranted angst… but social media is like the Lockness monster; it gets to you even when you can’t see it... so was flooded with Vasan Bala’s interview, which he answered with pure innocence and so much love.”

Johar added, “The gore misinterpretation of his comment about me sending the script to Alia without his grammar checks made me laugh initially at the ludicrousness of it all but now is truly annoying me… Vasan continues to be one of my most talented and wonderful collaborators and if you see his interview and hear his tone you will totally get it! BUT NO… much ado about nothing is all over the place…”

Concluding his caption, he wrote, “I fold my hands and tell everyone please hear and read entire interviews before making click bait assumptions. Loads of love to all of you.”

Karan became the point of discussion afterBala jokingly shared how Johar forwardeda rough draft to Alia. What the director meantin the clip is that he was upset because it was an unedited basic copy of the script with a lot of grammatical mistakes.

In an interview with Tried&Refused Productions, Bala shared, “I had written a very kachcha pakka email, stream of consciousness thoughts… sent it to Karan and 6-7 hours later, he called saying that I have already sent it to Alia and I was really not happy with it. I was like I would have at least done some spell check, grammar check, hygiene, written some very nice hero entry… That email was sent and I asked Karan ‘Why did you do this?’ He said, ‘No, no this is how it works. Then he said we’ll meet in a couple of days.”

Karan's clarification didn't have much impact on the netizens, who were quick to slam him, with some calling him 'nepo mafia.'

One Instagram user commented, ''Karan, being the lead of the nepo mafia trying to defend the nepo gang members. Karan you've been so notorious to the outsiders and you deserve all the hate and we all remember what happened to Sushant and all the outsiders.''

Another wrote, ''Again Alia and Karan 👏 stop it we don't want to hear about Alia every day she's an actress not an example to set for the generation.''

A third user wrote, ''As a producer, you didn't even ask the Director who was his First choice. You directly sent the script to Alia. It shows misuse of power. No wonder, Alia looks like a misfit in most of the films. If Alia didn't have you, she would have been struggling to even enter the industry. Boz she is that basic.''

Directed by Vasan Bala, Alia'sJigra is set to hit the theatres worldwide on Oct 11.
