Season 3 of the much-loved HBO drama Euphoria is currently in the works. And, the lead star of the show Zendaya has confirmed the time jump in the plot of the show.

The fans of the Emmy-winning show are curious to know about how and from where the long-awaited season 3 will pick up. However, without spilling much beans about the fourth coming season, the actress explained why the jump in the story was the need of the hour.

“It’s important because there’s only so much high school drama you can deal with,” The Emmy-winning actor recently told Entertainment Weekly on The Awardist podcast.

She added, “‘And then she cheats on her boyfriend again!'”

Zendaya has confirmed the rumours about the time jump in the story that will explore the life of the group after high school.

During her chat, the actress was not able to share many details about the show despite being an executive producer. ''I don't actually know much about what is happening," she said, though she is an executive producer on the series. "I don't quite know exactly what the season is going to look like, but I do know that the time jump is happening," she shared. 

The actress who plays the lead character of Rue in the show says, "It will be fascinating to see and understand these characters outside of the context of high school and how all the stuff that we saw when they were kids and they were in high school affects the adulthood they have and who they become in a much bigger world. I'll be interested to see what happens too."

In the show, Zendaya plays the role of queer teenager Rue, a high schooler who struggles with drug addiction.

Apart from Zendaya, the other cast members such as Hunter Schafer, Jacob Elordi, Sydney Sweeney, Alexa Demie and Maude Apatow will return. The production of season 3 will begin in January 2025.
