"Kyle experienced some stiffness in his side after bowling today (Saturday) and we didn't want to take any risks at this stage of the summer," head coach Rob Walter said.
"We felt it was best for him to sit out this one-day series and give himself the best chance of being ready for the West Indies tour, which starts on November 5 in Auckland."

New Zealand will enter the contest on the back of a series defeat in the T20Is which was mainly affected by rain. Two matches in Christchurch and Auckland were washed out due to rain where Jamieson was part of the squad.

According to Walter, his side wants Jamieson fit for the West Indies series which starts on November 5 in Auckland.
Rain played spoilsport in the third T20I between New Zealand and England in Auckland allowing just 3.4 overs of play. Courtesy of their win in the second T20I in Christchurch, England won the T20I series 1-0 as the first T20I was also washed out.
