The two actors met each other at a fashion awards ceremony recently.
Almost all of Bollywood was present at Sonam Kapoor and Anand Ahuja's wedding party a few weeks back. And while Ranveer Singh literally burnt the dance floor with his moves, his lady love, Deepika Padukone was conspicuous of her absence.
Deepika was at the same time walking the red carpet at the Met Gala and then at Cannes Film Festival.

On Saturday, at a fashion award ceremony, Deepika Padukone met Anil Kapoor and was seen apologising for not making at Sonam's wedding. A video that has surfaced on social media shows Anil Kapoor greeting Deepika with a hug and say ' I missed you yaar!' to which Deepika responds, "I know, I'm so sorry, I was at Cannes."
Sonam Kapoor and Anand Ahuja got married in Mumbai on May 8th which had Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, Kareena Kapoor, Ranbir Kapoor, Akshay Kumar, Madhuri Dixit and others in attendance.
