Ranu Mandal's viral video at railway station gets her a song in Himesh Reshammiya's film

The power of social media! A few weeks back, a video of Bengal's Ranu Mandal singing effortlessly a Lata Mangeshkar number at a railway station had gone viral. The video travelled far and wide and has now landed Mandal her a playback offer in a Bollywood film. 

Singer, composer and actor Himesh Reshammiya recently posted a video of Mandal on his Instagram where she can be seen recording for Reshammiya's next 'Happy Hardy And Heer'. 

The composer wrote, "Recorded teri meri kahani my new song from happy hardy and heer with the very talented ranu mondal who has a divine voice , all your our dreams can come true if we have the courage to peruse them, a positive attitude can really make dreams come true , thanks for all your love and support." 

Mandal will also be appearing on reality show 'Superstar Singer' and interacting with the kids and judges of the show, including Himesh himself.

Mandal shot to fame when a Facebook user posted a video of her singing Lata Mangeshkar's hit song 'Ek pyaar ka nagma hai’ went viral. Mandal had walked for hours before reaching the  Ranaghat Railway Station in the Nadia district of West Bengal. As she sat and hummed the song, a commuter recorded her song. 

Reshammiya was all praises for Mandal and her voice. "Today, I met Ranuji and I feel that she is blessed with divinity. Her singing was mesmerising and I could not stop myself from offering her the best I could. She has a God's gift which needs to be shared with the world and by singing in my upcoming movie, Happy Hardy and Heer, I think I will help her voice reach everyone," the composer told a news agency.
