Heavy rain and hail caused a surprise snowfall in Saudi Arabia’s Al-Jawf region. The heavy hailstorm converted the desert area into an icy landscape for the first time in history. In contrast to its desert landscape, the mountains were covered in snow after the unusual weather conditions.
The Saudi Press Agency said that this unusual weather has given new life to the rivers and waterfalls of the region. After the heavy hailstorms, the streams of the region have resumed their flow. The unusual incident is all over the internet and people are posting several pictures and videos of the unusually snow-covered desert.

The National Centre of Meteorology suggests that the strange weather in UAE, including rain, hailstorms, and snow, was caused by the rare low-pressure system over the Arabian Sea. This system brought in moisture-rich air and when met with the intense desert heat, it triggered unusual weather conditions.
The snow-covered desert grabbed the attention of people from around the world. Social media is flooded with photos and videos of the region. However, people have also shown concern and said that it is not a good sign from nature. One user wrote, “Not a good sign, mother nature is changing its colours.”
