Ancient DNA recovered from Old Lady Spider Cave in Ladakh has revealed a previously unknown population that no longer exists. Researchers found that people buried at the high-altitude site around 1,450 years ago had a unique genetic mix of Tibetan and North Indian ancestry, offering fresh insight into the region's ancient history.
